n. [OE. slabbe, of uncertain origin; perhaps originally meaning, a smooth piece, and akin to slape, Icel. sleipr slippery, and E. slip, v. i.]1. A thin piece of anything, especially of marble or other stone, having plane surfaces. (Gwilt.)
